Here are some pictures of Ray Anthony Rodriguez. He is our little miracle baby. He was born at
36 weeks and only weighed 3 pounds and 6 ounces, measuring 15 1/2 inches. He was
immediately roomed in the NICU then at only three days old was transported to St. Louis
Children's Hospital from Champaign, IL by ARCH Helicopter. He was born at Carle Hospital in
Champaign/Urbana. Ray was born with
kidney dysplasia and will eventually need a kidney
transplant. So far everything is okay, he is up to date with everything, his shots and has
accomplished many milestones. He has done so much! He will turn 3 years on Monday
03/08/2010, Oh my! How time flies by! He is walking, running climbing and talking a lot, we kind
of have to watch what we say now but he sounds adorable. He is very playful, has the cutest
laugh and smile of all. Ray is such a smart boy, I love it when he calls me mommy. He has come
a long way. Since November of '09 Ray has started on Growth Hormones which has increased
his appetite so he is asking for something to eat always. His doctor's appointment went well,
nothing has changed just his weight and growth. He has started to use the restroom on his own
but with a little help from mommy. He mimics everything we do. He is such a blessing - Thank
God. Next on our list will be his Kidney Transplant, according to his recent lab work if he is ready
then we will search for a donor kidney or if anyone in our immediate families
/friends match his
blood type, he is
O+. Praying this can be passed us soon.

His doctor's office (Dr. Goldstien) called today 03/08/2010 and told us his lab work results which
show his kidneys being at a 4.00 creatinine level. They told us they'd want to see him in two
weeks so we can discuss our options. Whether he would go on dialysis or get on the waiting list
for a donor kidney. Another option we have is to get tested in our immediate family or friends to
see who would be the perfect match for his donor kidney. First of course the blood type would
have to match and then test would show whether the person donating would be in good health to
qualify. Beside all this worrying today he had a great day for it being his birthday. We bought him
gifts, took him to Chuck E Cheese's, bought him a cake and much more. He is now three! We
are so blessed to have this little guy in our lives. Smart, energetic and such a loving heart what
can we say he is our little boy! Ray we love you so much. God is great and he will help us out!
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to read his story. Until next time!
